Advokatfirmaet RIISA was established in 1988 and through the past 30 years has become established as the country’s leading law firm in the field of insurance and tort law.

From the very start we have specialised in representing the Norwegian and international insurance sector across the whole spectrum of insurance law and tort law. Today we assist many of the leading Norwegian insurance companies with claims handling, legal advice and litigation before the courts. Additionally we offer expertise in a range of other specialist areas.

For a number of years, Advokatfirmaet RIISA has been voted the country’s leading law firm in insurance law in an annual poll conducted by the business newspaper Finansavisen, and several of our lawyers have been nominated as leading lawyers in the sector.

All our lawyers have extensive litigation experience, and many are admitted to appear before the Supreme Court. We litigate a large number of cases before the courts each year.

Several of our employees have long experience from the insurance sector and we have long experience with settlement of complex claims. We also have a number of lawyers with specialist expertise in complex issues and assist a large number of clients in several other areas of speciality.

As the country’s leading law firm in insurance and tort law, we have particular focus on the development of law and transfer of expertise. We participate in legal and specialist committees, write educational books and hold courses and seminars which are attended every year by several hundred delegates. Additionally, we assist our business partners with internal education, guidance, development and audits.

Our lawyers lecture at universities and other higher education institutions. We also have experience in guidance of master’s students, and many years’ experience in assessment and grading in higher education.
